Faculty, Staff and Students Stage Benefit Concert

Lexington, Ky. (Dec. 4, 2009) - Friday night's live music scene in Lexington will include a concert staged by faculty, staff and graduate students of the University of Kentucky to benefit one of their own. Following on the heels of the Feinberg Fund Silent Auction, a benefit concert to be held Dec. 4 at Al’s Bar in north Lexington will raise money for UK writing instructor Kelly Feinberg and her family. Feinberg is currently battling breast cancer with metastasis into the liver.
Coordinated by Feinberg’s coworkers and students, the benefit concert will feature The Rainjunkies, Freak the Mighty and Tiny Fights. Performances will begin at 9 p.m. and continue until about 1 a.m.
The cover charge for the night is $5 at the door, with all proceeds going to the Feinberg family to assist with medical bills and living expenses. Al’s Bar is located at the corner of N. Limestone and Sixth Street.
