Alpha Delta Pi to Host 5th Annual 5k Benefitting Lexington’s Ronald McDonald House
LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 3, 2016) — The members of Alpha Delta Pi sorority at the University of Kentucky will pair with the national organization, Color Me Rad 5K, to host a race in Lexington on April 23, at Masterson Station Park. The first race is set to begin at 9:00 a.m., the second race at 9:30 a.m.

By using the promotional code “RMHC” at registration, participants will receive 5 percent off their registration fees, and 15 percent of the fee will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass and the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation.
Color Me Rad partners with philanthropic organizations around the country to organize 5K races in which runners are coated with colored liquids, powders and gels for an exciting and unique experience. Since 2012, Alpha Delta Pi has been bringing the organization to Lexington to host a race that will benefit the sorority’s official philanthropy, Ronald McDonald House Charities.
"The Alpha Delta Pi chapter at the University of Kentucky has a rich history of providing Lexington’s Ronald McDonald House with annual fundraising efforts and volunteer resources," said Alpha Delta Pi Recruitment and Marketing Vice President Cami Moore. "The Color Me Rad 5k allows us to continue this tradition in a way that involves the entire community. During last year’s Color Me Rad 5k, UK’s Alpha Delta Pi raised more than $10,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass. In total, the sorority raised more than $90,000 in 2015 for Ronald McDonald House Charities, making the UK chapter the highest fundraising Alpha Delta Pi chapter internationally.
Founded in 1851 at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, Georgia, Alpha Delta Pi was the first secret society for college women. Its principles of scholarship, leadership, sisterhood and service guide over 245,000 women in 155 active collegiate chapters and over 150 alumnae associations of Alpha Delta Pi.
