Art Auction Seeks Artists and Donations

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Mar. 1, 2013) – The University of Kentucky College of Medicine's International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA)  is hosting their ninth annual "Art of Healing" silent auction on Friday, April 12, 2013.

IFMSA is hosting the event to raise funds to benefit the Shoulder-to-Shoulder Clinic in Ecuador.  The Shoulder-To-Shoulder clinic was established by Kentucky Health Providers and provides healthcare to some of the most impoverished and underserved families of Santo Domingo, Ecuador.

The IFMSA is looking for local artists to contribute art for the silent auction. Art donations may be any medium: photography, drawings, painting, jewelry, and any other handcrafted item.

The art will be displayed in the UK Chandler Hospital Lobby on the day of the auction and each artist will be recognized as a contributor.  Artist information will be featured along  with the artist's work.

The IFMSA requests that artists interested in donating make contact by Friday, March 15, 2013. Submissions are due by Friday, March 29, 2013.
