Weekend Weather Information

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 24, 2014) — University of Kentucky officials are monitoring weather conditions and will continue doing so throughout the weekend. UK HealthCare hospitals and clinics will remain open and operating on a regular schedule. At this time, classes and events scheduled for this weekend will remain open and take place during their regularly scheduled times.

However, administrators, faculty and/or staff overseeing these weekend classes and events may use their discretion to determine if cancellations are necessary, and may notify their respective students and patrons of the decision.

UK students, faculty and staff will be notified if any university-wide changes are made to the regular weekend schedule.

Employees should use their best judgment in reporting to work.

For University Physical Plant and other employees who have outdoor responsibilities, supervisors will administer work schedules to be sensitive to worker safety because of frigid temperatures. All employees should coordinate with their immediate supervisor to assure safe working conditions during these periods of intense cold.
