From Basketball to Opera, Boone Center Caters to UK

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 30, 2017) — The Hilary J. Boone Center at the University of Kentucky has created a new website with a new URL, http://boonecenter.uky.edu, featuring everything the university club offers. The Boone Center can also be found on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.

Membership is open to faculty, staff, alumni, UK Alumni Association members, UK departments, corporations, retirees and parents of students. Boone Center members may book up to eight private rooms, the courtyard and gated terrace, while enjoying delicious cuisine prepared by the award-winning culinary staff and experienced service team members during special events or for daily dining Monday through Friday. In the last year, the Boone Center has served as the venue for an array of large events, including the Southern Legislative Conference, Cancer Moonshot Summit, Commerce Lexington, campus conferences, weddings, receptions and more.

Through February, the Boone Center is reaching out to corporations that can benefit from membership. A single corporate membership rate for nonprofit organizations is $250 annually; for-profit corporate rates are based on the size of the business.

The club is part of the Association of College and University Clubs (ACUC), granting reciprocal privileges to nearly 80 clubs in the nation and around the world. When traveling, members may utilize ACUC facilities in other cities in the same manner as at home. Members of The Club at UK’s Spindletop Hall, the sister club to the Boone Center, also have the privilege of dining through the week for lunch. Membership inquiries may be directed to holly.clark@uky.edu

The Boone Center is also reaching out to wedding couples. For those planning a wedding to be held this year or in 2018, but still searching for a venue, it may not be too late to book by contacting linda.russell@uky.edu or rachel.norris@uky.edu. Membership is required, and dues for faculty and staff are $20 per month with a one-time enrollment fee of $100.

Several events will take place at the Boone Center over the next couple of months. The public is welcome to make reservations to enjoy meals served prior to Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra and UK Opera Theatre performances at the Singletary Center for the Arts. The club also will be courting prospective members in February when it opens its doors to non-members for a Valentine’s Day Lunch on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Reservations are taken over the phone at 859-257-1133 or email to peg.connery@uky.edu; inquiries also may be made online.
