BBGG Bids Farewell for 2009

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 25, 2009) – It's a Party on the Patio – Kentucky Proud style.

The place to be for lunch today – from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – is the Student Center patio with fresh Kentucky foods served by University of Kentucky Dining Services.

On the menu: at the slider station, Kentucky Ossobaw pork sliders with Ossobaw pork and Kentucky Sorghum BBQ, served with Gallrein Farms cabbage slaw; Pike Valley Farms South of the Border Chicken slider with local roasted sweet corn pico de gallo and a side of green tomato and nopalitos salad; and Kentucky Black and Bleu roasted beef slider with caramelized onions and sweet potato fries. Also on the table: Reed Valley Orchard McIntosh apple and Asian pear sweet biscuits with Rebekah Grace whipped cream; local fruit such as cantaloupe, yellow melon, and sugar baby melon; Ale-8-One, RG milks, and waters.

Then, it's time for students to stop by the UK Wildcat Wheels campus bike shop – from 1 to 5 p.m. in Blazer Hall basement – to turn in their passports to be entered into a drawing to win a free commuter bicycle.  While there, bike owners can tune-up their wheels or help work on the fleet of bikes available free of charge to students, faculty and staff.
