Big Blue Madness to Impact Parking in College View E Lot
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 25, 2018) — University of Kentucky fans hoping to obtain tickets for the 2018 Big Blue Madness event at Rupp Arena will begin moving into the College View E Lot at 5 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26. The College View E Lot is located between Wildcat Coal Lodge and Rose Street with an entrance off College View Avenue.
As a result, the College View Lot, which serves employee intermediate permit holders, will be unavailable for entry beginning at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, through midnight Friday, Sept. 28. Any vehicle still parked in the College View E-Lot on Tuesday, Sept. 25, must be moved before 6 p.m. or it will be relocated. The College View Lot (Wildcat Coal Lodge) R17 permit area will not be affected.
Tickets for Big Blue Madness go on sale at 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at the Memorial Coliseum ticket windows. Big Blue Madness is the first open practice opportunity for UK’s 2018-19 men’s and women’s basketball teams and will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, in Rupp Arena. Impacted employee intermediate permit holders may choose to park in an intermediate employee parking area. Here are a few choices close-by:
- Memorial Coliseum Lot: located north of Memorial Coliseum with an entrance on Rose Street and another entrance on Lexington Avenue.
- Schmidt Lot: located adjacent to the Schmidt Vocal Arts Center, with an entrance on Rose Lane.
- Career Center Lot and King Alumni North and South lots: with entrances on Linden Walk and Euclid Avenue.
- Linden Walk Lot: located east of the James W. Stuckert Career Center building with an entrance on Linden Walk.
Employees who park in other north campus lots should anticipate possible increases in demand for parking in their preferred area, familiarize themselves with alternative parking options and plan their commute accordingly.
