Cats Den Opens Spring Season

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 12, 2011) — After the long winter break and frigid temperatures, the University of Kentucky campus is starting to come alive once again. Fortunately for students, that means that the Cats Den will be offering them a new semester of entertainment.

Beginning on Jan. 12, the Comedy Caravan Series’ nationally renowned comedians will be back. But if laughing until you cry isn’t enough, the Late Night and International Film Series are scheduled to bring movies, such as “Kill Bill” and “Clueless.” Don’t forget to mark Feb. 17 on that brand new calendar, because the Late Night Film Series will be showing the box office hit “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.”

There is more to do in the Cats Den than just watch movies and comedians. The popular Concert Series will be back and rocking out the Cats Den with artists like the Seedy Seeds and Chris Bathgate.

The Video Game Series will feature tournaments of the new “Call of Duty: Black Ops” and “Halo Reach,” among others. There will even be opportunities for students, faculty and staff to test their knowledge of sports and Harry Potter, while winning awesome prizes at Trivia Nights. Other events that will take place in the Cats Den will include Poetry Slams, Love Lectures, Texas Hold’em competitions and much more. So, head over to the Cats Den to take advantage of all the free events it has to offer.

The Cat’s Den is located on the first floor of the University of Kentucky’s Student Center. All of the events hosted by the Cats Den are free to students, staff and faculty. For more information, contact catsdenuk@gmail.com . These events are sponsored by the Student Center director’s office.
