Cybersecurity is Topic of SEC Academic Conference

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 2, 2018) — The 2018 SEC Academic Conference will be April 8-10, in Auburn, Alabama, at The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center. Titled “Cyber Security: A Shared Responsibility,” it will showcase contributions from researchers at Southeastern Conference universities and within industry.

Keynote speakers are Adm. Michael S. Rogers, United States Navy, commander, United States Cyber Command, director, National Security Agency, and chief, Central Security Service; Andrew Case, director of research at Volexity; Glenn Gaffney, executive vice president, In-Q-Tel; Bill Newhouse, deputy director of the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education at the National Institute of Standards and Technology; and Ray Rothrock, chairman and CEO of RedSeal.

The SEC Academic Conference will include representatives from all 14 SEC universities, panel discussions and a competition where SEC students will have 24 hours to develop a solution to a real-world cyber security challenge, along with a student poster exhibition.
