Deadline Set for Journalism Hall of Fame
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 2, 2010) — A January deadline has been set for nominations to the Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame. Nominations must be submitted by Jan. 7, 2011. A new round of inductees will enter the hall in the spring.
The Hall of Fame recognizes Kentuckians who have made significant contributions to the profession of journalism. Selection is made from individuals, living or dead, who either are Kentucky natives or have spent a significant portion of their careers in Kentucky.
The University of Kentucky Journalism Alumni Association established the hall in 1980. New members are inducted annually. The hall is administered by the Journalism Alumni Association and housed at UK’s School of Journalism and Telecommunications. A nomination form and complete list of Hall of Fame members can be found on the school’s website.
Along with the completed nomination form, attach a detailed letter outlining the nominee’s qualifications for inclusion and a color or black and white photo. The information provided is generally the only source of information the selection committee has on the nominee. Helpful information includes career highlights (with dates, where available), honors and awards, civic and/or professional activities. Nomination forms should be printed or typed.
Nomination forms and accompanying letters of support must be returned to Amy Wilhite, assistant to the director, School of Journalism and Telecommunications, 107 Grehan Building, University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY 40506-0042.
