Donovan Trust Seeks Funding Proposals

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 14, 2011) – Faculty, staff, and students are invited to send proposals for how they would use funds to be awarded from the Herman Lee and Nell Stuart Donovan Endowment.

The Advisory Committee for the Donovan Trust is seeking proposals for the 2011-12 academic year.

“The purpose of the endowment is to promote an atmosphere of culture, refinement and gentility and to enrich educational opportunities to develop students’ appreciation of the qualities of beauty and loveliness in the environment in which they live and study,” said Kathy Farah, director of administration for the Office of Development.

Specific examples in the endowment mention “beautiful books, musical programs, acquisition of beautiful pictures and production of flowers and shrubs," according to Farah.

Those interested in the funding requests, which may range from $1,000 to $15,000, must apply before Friday, Nov. 11, 2011.
