LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 2, 2022) — The University of Kentucky recently announced a new vaccine incentive program for the COVID-19 booster, "Cats Get Boosted." From Feb. 1 through April 29, UK students and employees who have received their booster and completed the entry form on UK’s Coronavirus website have the chance to win prizes drawn weekly.

Students can win one of ten $500 General Education Scholarships, plus one $1,500 General Education Scholarship for a total of 11 winners each week beginning Friday.

Also beginning Friday, 10 UK employees who have entered the incentive program will be selected to win a $500 cash award. Ten winners will be drawn each week through April 29.

To enter the drawing, complete the following.

  • First, request an appointment to receive your COVID-19 booster.
  • If you have already received your booster at UK, fill out the entry form for UK students or UK employees.
  • If you received your booster through a non-UK provider, document it here. Then, fill out the appropriate entry form.
  • Please note: if you submitted an entry for the Fall 2021 vaccine incentive program, you still need to complete the booster incentive entry form to win in this booster incentive program.

By getting your COVID-19 booster, you are taking part in the collective effort to keep our campus safe. As we progress through the spring semester, consider the importance of protecting yourself and your loved ones. A simple booster shot can have a substantial impact.

The University of Kentucky is excited to be able to reward its students and employees for their commitment to acting with compassion toward our community. By getting boosted, we can all prove what is wildly possible when we work together.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
