Health Sciences Students Plan 'Ghostly' Event

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 24, 2010) − Students at the University of Kentucky College of Health Sciences are planning a fun-filled journey through the ghost world at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at Memorial Hall. Patti Starr, a paranormal investigator and owner of Ghost Chaser International, will be the featured guest. All proceeds from the event will go toward offsetting expenses for the Physical Therapy Class of 2012.

"One of our classmates suggested bringing in her grandmother, Patti Starr, a world-renowned ghost hunter, to kick off the Halloween festivities," said Susan Scherzer, a second year physical therapy student in the class of 2012. "After hearing about her investigations, we decided to open up this special event to the student body so they can enjoy this unique adventure as well. Patti is the tour guide for the popular Bardstown Ghost Trek and she is offering a reduced rate so that students can experience 'paranormal' activity at its spookiest!"

Starr, who has been a ghost hunter for 30 years, has investigated haunted hot spots across the United States and Europe. She will talk about her ghost hunting experiences at the event and present a PowerPoint of video clips, pictures, and some audio from those experiences. Starr will also provide door prizes.

Tickets are available for purchase for $5 from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29 at the following locations: the back patio of the Student Center, the lobby of the Charles T. Wethington Building or by emailing Susan at slsche2@uky.edu. Tickets are $7 at the door the day of the event.
