LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 21, 2020) — As University of Kentucky returns to in-session classes, the university continues to field questions related to specific elements of the campus restart plan. Below are a few of the questions most commonly asked by university faculty and staff.

Q: When will community testing be available?

A: The Commonwealth of Kentucky's Department for Public Health is partnering with the University of Kentucky and UK HealthCare to begin free drive-up COVID-19 testing for the community at two sites beginning Aug. 24. Q: When should I wear a face covering?

A: You should wear a face covering at all times unless you are eating, drinking, exercising, alone in a room or alone outside.

Q: What is the difference between isolation and quarantine?

A: Isolation and quarantine help protect the public by preventing exposure to people who have or may have a contagious disease.

Isolation separates sick people with a contagious disease from people who are not sick.

Quarantine separates and restricts the movement of people who were exposed to a contagious disease to see if they become sick.

As of Aug. 17, of the 21,064 students tested, Wild Health reported 231 positive cases and a 1.1% positivity rate on campus. To see updated results from student testing, visit: www.uky.edu/coronavirus/covid-19-testing-results.
