LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 14, 2025) — Big Blue Move-In is right around the corner — and University of Kentucky Campus Housing needs your help to make it an unforgettable welcome for our newest Wildcats! Volunteers play a key role in ensuring a smooth, friendly and efficient move-in experience for students and their families.

Whether you’re helping unload cars, giving directions or just offering a warm smile, your support makes a lasting impact.

UK is looking for students, student organizations, faculty, staff and alumni to join the Wildcat Welcome Team on Sunday, Aug. 17, and Wednesday, Aug. 20. If you’re available on either day, it’s a great opportunity to lend a hand, share a smile and help make move-in a positive and welcoming experience.

Volunteer tasks may include:

  • Assisting with unloading and moving belongings

  • Directing traffic and guiding families to check-in areas

  • Answering questions and providing campus directions

  • Creating a warm, supportive environment for students

Volunteer for a few hours or all day — whatever works for your schedule.

Join the Big Blue Move-In team and help set the tone for an amazing year. Sign up at wildcatliving.uky.edu/big-blue-move-volunteers

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
