K-Lair reopens with fresh look, classic flavors and new campus traditions

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 25, 2025) — K-Lair, a beloved campus tradition since 1961, is reopening with a new look and a menu that blends tradition with fresh flavors.
Located in the University of Kentucky’s Haggin Hall, the new K-Lair has been transformed into a vibrant space for students to relax, study and enjoy a meal together.
The updated dining area now features booth and table seating, high-definition TVs and even self-ordering tablets for quicker service. For students who need to plug in while they dine, new study stations with outlets have been added.
While the space feels brand new, the menu reflects K-Lair’s classic roots. Students will find favorites like cheeseburgers made with local beef, crispy chicken tenders, black bean burgers and fresh salads. Longtime Wildcats will also appreciate the nod to campus dining history with the return of popular Ovid’s wraps, including the spicy beef and chipotle chicken options, alongside traditional staples like grilled cheese.
The new interior also pays tribute to K-Lair’s past, with recreated marquee signs and historic images displayed on the windows, celebrating moments from UK’s history.
K-Lair will officially reopen with a grand reopening party 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25. Along with free food, the first 300 guests will receive a free K-Lair t-shirt.
Regular hours will be Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m.-midnight, and Friday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. K-Lair is currently closed on Saturdays. Students will be able to pay using Flex Dollars, CatCash, credit or debit cards and cash.
