More Employee and Visitor Parking Available on North Campus
LEXINGTON, Ky (Aug. 3, 2018) — University of Kentucky Transportation Services recently completed construction on an expansion to the Memorial Coliseum parking lot, located behind the Joe Craft Center. An additional 61 intermediate employee parking spaces are now available along the west end of the lot following the relocation of the UK Bookstore into the new Bill Gatton Student Center and removal of the temporary facility earlier this summer.
The Memorial Coliseum Lot is conveniently located on north campus adjacent to the James F. Hardymon and Davis Marksbury buildings and within a short walk to UK HealthCare Good Samaritan Hospital, the Singletary Center for the Arts and the Gatton Student Center. Access to the lot is available from either Lexington Avenue or Rose Street via College View Avenue.
Meanwhile, visiting the new Gatton Student Center just got even more convenient with the opening of a 119-space visitor parking lot located immediately to the east of the facility with entrances located at the intersection of Avenue of Champions and Lexington Avenue.
The new parking lot offers convenient parking for anyone visiting the Gatton Student Center, whether it be to attend an event or take advantage of the entertainment, educational, retail or exercise options. The lot also provides a 10-minute passenger loading zone at the center’s east entrance for increased passenger convenience or for patrons utilizing ride share services.
Parking rates for use of the lot are $2 per hour. Visitors are required to pre-pay for their parking at any of the three parking pay stations conveniently located along the west side of the lot. Cash and most major credit cards are accepted. Please note that payment is associated with the vehicle license plate, so visitors must enter their license plate number when paying.
Additional visitor pay parking is available in the South Limestone Garage (PS #5), located to the west of the Student Center at 409 South Limestone. Vehicles may access the garage from either South Limestone or South Upper Street. The Gatton Student Center is then just a short walk from the garage via the pedestrian bridge to Administration Drive.
