OLLI in Morehead to Hold Fall Open House

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 8, 2010) − The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UK in Morehead will have their open house from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10 at the newly opened Rowan County Public Library. The open house will provide interested adults age 50 and over the opportunity to come and learn more about the events and programs offered by OLLI at UK in Morehead.
 

OLLI, whose tag line is "where curiosity never retires," offers programs, events, special interest groups, workshops, and other opportunities to continue to learn, hear and discuss new ideas and be involved with people of similar interests or find a new interest, hear new research, ask questions, be engaged in the community and learn just for the fun of it.
 

OLLI offers a wide range of classes that include science and technology, nature, health and wellness, special events such as a "chalk talk" with MSU volleyball coach Jamie Gordon and a health care reform workshop, and special interest groups such as non-fiction, hiking, Spanish, and  creative writing. Fall classes in Morehead begin in late September. There is a $10 membership fee per semester and a $10 fee per course.
 

At the open house, instructors will present information on their classes and be available to greet potential students. Registration for classes will be open, as well as sign-ups for special interest groups. Refreshments will be served. Interested persons are encouraged to register, as classes fill up quickly.
 

The new Rowan County Public Library is located at 175 Beacon Hill Drive in Morehead, just off I-64.
