OneUK releases inaugural annual report, showcasing first-year accomplishments for holistic partnerships

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 20, 2025) — OneUK, a strategic collaboration between the University of Kentucky and leading community businesses, has released its first annual report, offering an in-depth look at the program’s mission, impact and future goals.

The full report, available online, highlights the accomplishments of OneUK’s inaugural year, including its work with the first cohort of partners: Appalachian Regional Healthcare, Fischer Homes and Valvoline Global.

Launched as an extension of the Advancing Together Kentucky Network, OneUK seeks to strengthen business engagement across the university and foster long-term partnerships that support Kentucky’s economic and workforce development. By aligning UK’s educational, research and community resources with industry leaders, OneUK helps address workforce needs, drive innovation and advance the health and welfare of Kentucky residents.

“This first year has demonstrated the power of collaboration between UK and industry leaders to create meaningful impact,” said Kim Kluemper, director of the Office of Business Engagement at UK. “By working together, we are expanding opportunities for talent development, research and economic growth.”

OneUK’s model focuses on holistic partnerships that span multiple sectors, helping businesses tap into UK’s resources while supporting the university’s mission of advancing the Commonwealth. Through these partnerships, UK continues to position itself as a key player in Kentucky’s economic landscape, preparing students and professionals for the evolving demands of the workforce.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
