"see blue." U to Impact North Campus Parking
LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 22, 2018) — Hundreds of new students and their families will travel to campus over the next few weeks for "see blue." U orientation. With the influx of visitors on campus, some faculty and staff will see an impact to typical summer parking and transportation routes on north campus through July 13. However, impact will be the greatest on dates when two orientation groups will be visiting campus at the same time, which will occur on the following days:
- Tuesday, June 26;
- Tuesday, July 10;
- Wednesday, July 11; and
- Thursday, July 12.
While most employees won’t have the opportunity to directly interact with and positively influence the visits of incoming students and their families, many can still play an important role by choosing to forgo their typical parking routines in the South Limestone area to ensure convenient parking is available for guests.
Employees who typically park in the South Limestone Garage (PS #5) are asked to park in other area employee parking lots on these dates. Alternative parking locations include the four lots located on Scott Street (Scott Street, Taylor/Dickey, Comers and Reynolds lots), as well as the Memorial Coliseum Lot and lots in the Linden Walk area.
Employees who park in other north campus lots should anticipate possible increases in demand for parking in their preferred area, familiarize themselves with alternative parking options and plan their commute accordingly.
