Semester Break Parking and Transit Changes
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 16, 2011) — During the break between the fall and spring semesters, demand for student parking is greatly reduced. As a result, Parking and Transportation Services does not control many of the student areas for permits during this period.
In general, all Residential (R) lots and all single use Commuter (C) lots are off control from Saturday, Dec. 17 through Sunday, Jan. 8. All joint use Employee/Commuter lots will remain on control for permits during the semester break. All lots will resume normal control on Monday, Jan. 9, except the K portions of Commonwealth Stadium, R2, R6, R7, R8, R9, and evening controlled areas. These areas will resume control on Tuesday, Jan. 17. Please note: All parking meters will remain on control during the semester break.
CATS and Lextran campus bus service will not operate between semesters. The on-demand night bus will resume service on Sunday, Jan. 8, to accommodate students returning to campus. The on-demand bus will not run on Monday and Tuesday, and will resume full service on Wed. Jan 11. All CATS service and the Lextran Stadium Route service will resume on Wednesday, Jan. 11.
