Spring Service Project Aims to Help Furry Friends
LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 31, 2017) — With spring comes an increase of outside activities for furry friends and the University of Kentucky Horticulture Department is willing to help. UK Horticulture is taking donations for cats and dogs like food, treats and toys to make the season more fun.
Items that are collected from UK will be donated to local animal shelters. The shelters have requested the following items:
- blankets;
- trash bags;
- collars/leashes;
- rubbing alcohol;
- pet beds;
- towels;
- paper towels; and/or
- hydrogen peroxide.
Donated items should be dropped off between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays at to N318 Agriculture Science Center North.
The deadline to donate items is 3 p.m, Friday, April 14.
