UK Alumni Association hosts Member Appreciation Week

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 16, 2023) — The University of Kentucky Alumni Association will celebrate its members during Member Appreciation Week Feb. 20-24, held in conjunction with UK Founders Day on Feb. 22.  

“We love rolling out the blue carpet during Member Appreciation Week to show members how grateful we are for their loyalty,” said Jill Smith, Alumni Association executive director. “The commitment of every Life and Active Member really does make an impact at UK and this is our way of showing our thanks to the Wildcat family.”  

The week will be full of activities and exclusives for members including a chance to register for the UK Baseball Fun Pack Sweepstakes. This fun pack includes four club-level tickets with access to the Lexus Lounge at the UK vs. University of Florida baseball game at Kentucky Proud Park on Saturday, May 20. The winner also receives a Yeti tailgate cooler packed full of Kentucky swag. Members may register for the sweepstakes online and earn additional entries throughout the week by checking their email and following the UK Alumni Association on social media. The winner will be announced at the end of Member Appreciation Week on Feb. 24.

Monday, Feb. 20  

  • Enjoy a 20% discount on all apparel and accessories courtesy of the UK Bookstore. Members should check their email for a promotional code and further information from the UK Alumni Association. 
  • Download a UK art print here
  • Answer a trivia question on the association’s social media platforms for a chance to win UK swag.  

Tuesday, Feb. 21 

  • Spin the Wildcat Wheel o’ Fun, a virtual prize wheel. More information will be emailed to those who are eligible. 
  • Answer a trivia question on the association’s social media platforms for a chance to win UK swag. 

Wednesday, Feb. 22  

  • Celebrate UK’s 158th birthday by participating in the second annual Founders Day Festival at the Gatton Student Center from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. EST. The festival will include games, prizes, giveaways, food and music. This event is free and open to the campus community. Learn more at www.ukalumni.net/FoundersDay.  
  • Answer a trivia question on the association’s social media platforms for a chance to win UK swag. 

Thursday, Feb. 23 

  • Play the Wildcat Word Shuffle Challenge virtual game. More information will be emailed to those who are eligible. Successful completion of the challenge will equal an entry into a drawing to win a Keeneland package.  
  • Answer a trivia question on the association’s social media platforms for a chance to win UK swag. 

Friday, Feb. 24 

  • Earn extra entries into the UK Baseball Fun Pack Sweepstakes by completing one or more of the following: 
    — Post a picture with Flat Wildcat on social media and tag the UK Alumni Association. 
    — Download the UK Alumni Association’s mobile app
    — Join Wildcat Network, UK’s exclusive online community.
  • Answer a trivia question on the association’s social media platforms for a chance to win UK swag. 

Members of the UK Alumni Association are defined as follows:  

  • Life Members are those who have purchased a Life Membership.  
  • Active Members are those who give $75 or more cumulatively to any UK funds annually. 
  • Recent Graduate Active Members are those who completed their first UK degree within the last five years and have given $25 or more cumulatively to any UK funds annually. 
  • Student Active Members are those who have given $25 or more cumulatively to any UK funds annually. 
  • Members are those that have completed at least 12 credit hours at UK.
