UK Apothecary in Gatton Student Center returns to regular hours Aug. 18

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 12, 2025) — The Apothecary, located in the University of Kentucky Gatton Student Center, will be open Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. beginning Monday, Aug. 18.

The Apothecary is open to everyone and accepts most insurance plans. Like all UK Retail Pharmacies, the Apothecary offers the lowest prescription prices in Lexington (see ukpharmacy.org for details), as well as vaccinations, discounted over-the-counter items and more.

The Apothecary also offers free delivery on most prescriptions to offices and residence halls on UK’s campus. Those interested in this service can sign up here. For those not on UK’s campus, free mail delivery is available on most prescriptions on request.

UK Retail Pharmacies are full-service pharmacies, with seven locations in Lexington open to everyone and one, the Bluegrass Clinic Pharmacy in Beaumont, open to UK employees and patients of the UK Bluegrass Care Clinic. Most insurance plans are accepted.

UK Retail Pharmacies were recently voted Best Pharmacies in Lexington for the fourth time in two years, winning the Herald-Leader’s Best of Lexington contest and the Smiley Pete Best of Lex contest in both 2024 and 2025.
