UK Athletics Launches 'BBN Live'

LEXINGTON, KY. (March 31, 2020) — With Wildcat teams temporarily sidelined, UK Athletics is launching a new live show on Facebook and Twitter to connect fans to the coaches and staff who lead their teams: "BBN Live" presented by eCoach.

The show will feature two conversations each weekday on University of Kentucky Athletics’ official Twitter (@UKAthletics) and Facebook (Kentucky Wildcats) accounts. The afternoon version will air at 2:30 p.m. and will include kid-centric topics. The evening version will air at 8 p.m. and will be for general audiences.

Darren Headrick and other UK Sports Network talent will host each show and will be joined by a rotating cast of UK head coaches, assistant coaches and prominent staff members from all 22 Wildcat teams. Volleyball head coach Craig Skinner and softball head coach Rachel Lawson were the guest stars of the premiere episodes Monday, March 30.

The goal of "BBN Live" is to connect the Big Blue Nation to its favorite UK teams during a time that no competition is taking place due to the ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.

In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
