UK Information Technology Services Adds New Phone Prefix for Campus

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 24, 2017) — University of Kentucky Information Technology Services (ITS) has added a new phone prefix: 859-562-XXXX. The 562 prefix will begin appearing on UK owned Voice over Internet Protocal (VoIP) phones over the next several months. Abbreviated 5-digit dialing for this new prefix will be 2-XXXX.

Special Note for Customers Who Utilize the, “Call Park,” Feature: 

Call park numbers on VoIP phones that begin with 2XXX will now require the * prefix in order to pick up a parked call. For example, previously a call might have been parked and retrieved at the number 2123. Now that number will appear as *2123.
