UK’s Early Action application deadline for undergraduate admission is Dec. 1
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 22, 2023) — High school seniors ready to take the next step in their academic journey are encouraged to apply to the University of Kentucky by the Dec. 1 Early Action deadline.
Students who want to be considered for competitive and academic scholarships and the Lewis Honors College should apply by 11:59 p.m. EST Friday, Dec. 1. The Regular Decision application deadline is Feb. 15.
Prospective students have two online application options — the UK Application and the Common App.
A complete application for admission requires a high school transcript and a $50 application fee ($60 for international students). Through the 2028-29 academic year, the university is test-optional for admission and scholarship consideration. This means that an ACT or SAT score is not required for a student seeking admission to UK. If a student chooses to submit their test scores, they will be accepted either directly from the testing agency or on the official high school transcript.
Students applying for competitive, academic scholarships and/or the Lewis Honors College are required to complete an additional essay within the application for undergraduate admission.
The best way to discover the opportunities at UK is to experience them for yourself. Contact the Visitor Center to register for a campus tour.
As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
