LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 5, 2013) — University of Kentucky seniors Casey Smith and Kenny Harris, both majoring in media arts and studies in the UK College of Communication and Information, were asked to create a short video about "Presentation U," which is the university's Quality Enhancement Plan, or QEP.  The purpose of the video was to inform the UK community about the QEP in a fun and engaging way. Combining their talents, the students created a "doodle video" that spells out the basics of Presentation U through drawings and commentary. By utlizing campus resources and their own education at UK, their creative process reflects the mission of Presentation U.

About UK's Quality Enhancement Plan: Presentation U

The intention of the QEP is to improve the student learning experience with a focus on developing integrated oral, written, visual and multimedia communication skills. While many students use similar services at UK currently, such as the Writing Center, CELT, the Study, the MC3 Lab, eStudio and the Hub, Presentation U will collaborate with these programs, while also offering a unique service to faculty in developing opportunities in their courses for students to learn these skills.

The QEP is one of 12 core requirements the university takes on to reaffirm its accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). SACS reaffirmation of accreditation is mandatory for the university.

SACS will evaluate Presentation U as UK's QEP this April.
