Upcoming parking and traffic impact: Veterans Drive

Graphic designed by Callie Brown.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 4, 2025) — Utility work is scheduled to take place on Veterans Drive starting Dec. 8. This project involves installation of utility pipes in the area and will impact both traffic and parking.

Contractors will install fencing on two sections of Veterans Drive, enabling them to access manholes in the street. This will narrow the traffic lane.

In addition, three ADA-accessible spaces on Veterans Drive have been relocated in order to maintain traffic in the area. Two of the spaces were moved to another location on Veterans Drive, and two new ADA parking spaces were added to the Kroger Field Orange Lot near the Orange Route bus shelter.

This work is not expected to impact Orange Route buses, except for periodic minor delays.

See the above graphic for details.

This project is weather dependent and is expected to last between five to six weeks, into mid-January. Motorists and cyclists should exercise caution in the work area.
