The Wait is Over, Tapingo is Here

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 17, 2017) — Picture this: you’re rushing to get to the first class of the day, but you’re in dire need of coffee. You take a quick peek into your go-to coffee shop, but the line is too long. Do you skip your morning coffee and make it to class on time, or do you caffeinate and suffer the embarrassment of turning up 10 minutes late?

Fortunately, University of Kentucky students will never again face this dilemma.

UK Dining is excited to announce the launch of Tapingo, the leading mobile commerce application for college campus dining services. Using Tapingo (which is free to download), students, faculty and staff can browse menus, customize orders, pay and have their order ready for pickup upon arrival. Tapingo makes dining on campus easier and more convenient than ever before.

Starting today, Jan. 17, students, faculty and staff are able to "Tapingo" orders from the following on-campus favorites: K-Lair, Steak ‘n Shake, Panda Express, Subway Café, Subway, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Brioche Doree, Taco Bell, La Madeleine, Rising Roll, Freshii, Starbucks and all of the other campus coffee shops.

Once an order is ready, Tapingo sends a text notification to the user, who can avoid waiting in line and head straight to the counter for pickup. Embodying the Tapingo lifestyle of “wait less, live more,” Tapingo’s technology is so advanced that the app remembers personalized choices (extra cheese, hold the mustard) for one-tap reordering.

In addition to Tapingo’s advanced mobile ordering and pickup, students, faculty and staff at UK will be happy to know that items can be purchased through the app using the WildCard (Wildcat Deals, Flex Dollars and Plus Account), as well as bank cards.
