Celebrate Eastern Kentucky with Sundy Best

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 23, 2016)  Student Activities Board’s Concerts Committee and University of Kentucky Mountain Cats present "Moving Mountains: A Celebration of Eastern Kentucky with Sundy Best," performing 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, in Memorial Hall.

“We are so excited to be teaming up with Mountain Cats,” stated Jessica Loflin, SAB director of concerts. “'Moving Mountains' provides students with entertainment and the opportunity to learn about Eastern Kentucky and the Appalachia region.”

Sundy Best is an American country duo formed by Nick Jamerson and Kris Bentley currently living in Lexington and originating from Prestonsburg, Kentucky. Their music is a blend of country, Appalachian folk, bluegrass, rock, soul and R&B.

"Mountain Cats is so excited to partner with SAB for this truly unique event," stated Fiona Foster, president and founder of Mountain Cats. "'Moving Mountains' will be a trifecta of a night with great music, an engaging speaker and an incredible opportunity to experience some of the many gifts Eastern Kentucky has to offer. Mountain Cats has the unique opportunity to experience these gifts all the time with our mentoring and service-learning opportunities in Eastern Kentucky and we are so thrilled to have the chance to share them! We hope that all students will come learn, dance and enjoy with us."

The event will include a keynote speaker to educate audience members about Appalachia and the David School, a non-profit high school serving underprivileged students in the Appalachian region. Tickets are free for UK students, faculty and staff with a valid UK ID and $10 for general public. They will be available for pick-up or purchase beginning Thursday, Feb. 25, for students and Thursday, March 3, for UK faculty and staff and the general public at the Student Involvement Ticket Office in Bowman’s Den or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
