Call for Session Proposals for 2018 Women’s Forum Conference

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 3, 2018)  The University of Kentucky Women’s Forum Conference Committee is now accepting proposals for conference sessions for this year's annual conference scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the Gatton Student Center. The theme for the 2018 conference is "Intention."

The Women’s Forum conference is a professional development conference open to all faculty and staff at UK. Breakout sessions are 50 minutes in length, and presenters are encouraged to leave five to 10 minutes for questions and answers with attendees. Total attendance for each session varies between 20-60 participants. Lectures, hands-on workshops and panel presentations are welcome. 

Submitting Session Proposals

Proposals are being accepted through Wednesday, Aug. 29. Submitters will receive notification by Sept. 14, if they have been selected to present at the conference. Only proposals submitted through the link below will be considered. Presentations must not have a commercial message or sales pitch.

Topic suggestions include:

  • career development;
  • diversity and bias;
  • emotional intelligence;
  • healthy habits;
  • leadership;
  • minimalism;
  • mentorship;
  • motivation;
  • networking;
  • public speaking;
  • self-care;
  • time management; and
  • work-life balance.

Submitted session proposals are carefully reviewed by members of the Conference Committee chaired by Amanda Saha and Kristen Pickett. On occasion, the committee may ask submitters to provide additional documentation for further clarification. All submitters will be notified of the conference committee’s decision by Sept. 14.
