Multicultural Health Careers Open House

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 24, 2012) − Prospective students and their families from Kentucky and surrounding areas will have the opportunity to learn more about the different health professions offered at the University of Kentucky at the 5th Annual Multicultural Health Careers Open House on Saturday, March 3.

The event, which continues the University's commitment to building diversity by targeting traditionally underrepresented minorities interested in the health professions , will give attendees the opportunity to meet and greet the deans, staff and students from each of UK's health and medical colleges. Prospective students will have the chance to choose from a myriad of different interest sessions designed to provide information about the Colleges of Dentistry, Health Sciences,  Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Public Health.

Additionally, sessions will be provided to learn more about financing a professional school education, interviewing, volunteering and other ways to be a competitive applicant.

Prospective students will have the opportunity to hear current professional students speak about their experiences. Check-in for the Open House will begin at 9 a.m. in the Biological Pharmaceutical Complex and is open to interested undergraduate or graduate students. The program begins at 10 a.m. and registration is required.
