Hoops Downs Morehead St. to Open Season
Kastine Evans scored a career-high 23 points and No. 18 Kentucky used a second-half scoring spree to cruise past Morehead State 96-60 in the season opener for both teams on Friday night. Down 32-31 at halftime to the Eagles, the Wildcats opened the second half on a 9-0 run and wouldn't trail again. Kentucky extended that early spree to a whopping 36-10 run at one point in the second frame, and finished the half outscoring Morehead State 65-28. Kentucky's 65 point outburst was the most scored in any half in team history, as the Wildcats shot 69 percent (20 of 29) in the frame.
