Wildcat Wardrobe Looking For Volunteers
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 14, 2019) — Are you interested in a unique service opportunity on campus? UK Student Government Association (SGA) is looking for volunteers to work in the Wildcat Wardrobe.
The Wildcat Wardrobe, which is located in the basement of White Hall, is a service that allows students to get free professional clothing. Students who bring in their student ID are allowed to take three items of clothing from the Wardrobe. The service is supported through donations from the Lexington community, and it offers suits, dresses, shirts, ties, socks and shoes for all.
Currently, the Wardrobe is open from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. If you need to schedule an alternate appointment time to pick out clothes, please email wildcatwardrobe@uksga.org.
Volunteers will be expected to work three hours a week in the Wardrobe. You will help collect donations, organize the Wardrobe, promote the service, and log inventory when students check out items. SGA is looking for students who have a passion for service, a positive attitude, and a desire to give back to the UK community!
If you are interested in getting involved as a volunteer, please apply on BBNvolved or email wildcatwardrobe@uksga.org for more info!
As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
