Track UK's Progress on the COVID-19 Data Dashboard
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 30, 2021) — In an ongoing effort to promote trust and transparency, the University of Kentucky continues to update its COVID-19 data dashboard twice a week.
In response to feedback from the community, earlier this month, UK increased the frequency with which the dashboard is updated; it was previously updated once a week.
The dashboard provides a snapshot of the current impact of COVID-19 on the UK campus. It also displays the institution’s progress in vaccinating members of the community.
Currently, vaccination rates for the UK community stand as follows:
- Community Overall - 87.0%
- Faculty - 93.8%
- Staff - 89.3%
- Students - 84.5%
- UK Campus - 85.6%
- UK HealthCare - 90.8%
In addition to vaccine rates segmented by the populations above, information on the dashboard includes:
- Number of active, new and recovered COVID-19 cases among UK students
- Number of active, new and recovered COVID-19 cases among UK employees
- Number of students in isolation facilities
- Number of UK-collected tests, positive results and negative results for students
- Number of UK-collected tests, positive results and negative results for employees
UK officials and health experts continue to emphasize that vaccines are the best defense against the COVID-19 pandemic; continued progress with vaccines, as reflected on the dashboard, will bring the community closer to the residential experience that distinguishes a UK education.
“Vaccines are the most effective and safest tool to protect against serious illness from COVID-19. They are the best hope — without question — for us to continue our return to the campus life and experience we all want,” UK President Eli Capilouto said in an email to campus on Sept. 24. “We have begun to enjoy this experience more with our students, faculty and staff this semester because of our rising numbers of vaccinated community members. Our progress is undeniable. Our goal is to continue to find ways to build upon that momentum.”
