LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 20, 2022) — It has been one year since Starship Technology’s food delivery robots made their debut on the University of Kentucky’s campus. The robots, powered by Starship Technologies in conjunction with UK Dining, allow UK students, faculty and staff to order food and drinks from campus eateries to be delivered, within minutes, to any location on campus.

Now, Starship has joined forces with Grubhub to offer UK students, faculty and staff access to even more food delivery and in-store pickup options. Food delivery is now available from Freshii, Zen Sushi, Wildcat Pantry and more. The full list of eateries and hours of service can be viewed in the Grubhub app.

To place a robot delivery or in-store pickup order from a UK Dining location, log in to the Grubhub app while on UK's campus. When prompted with a “Do you attend or work at the University of Kentucky?” screen, select “I want in!” or go to https://grubhub.app.link/cI5VXRu0xsb and follow the prompts.

Each robot can carry up to 20 pounds. The delivery usually arrives within a matter of minutes, depending on the menu items ordered and the distance from the restaurant to the delivery location.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
