UK to host job fair on May 13
LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 10, 2022) — As the University of Kentucky continues to expand the ways it serves the Commonwealth, members of the public have a chance to learn more about open positions across both the academic campus and UK HealthCare.
UK employees can also help recruit their future colleagues by sharing information about an upcoming job fair, scheduled 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at the Gatton Student Center.
UK’s faculty and staff turnover rates compare very favorably to similar institutions. But as the university continues to grow, and as the number of open positions continues to outpace the supply of available workers nationwide, UK is eager to broaden its pool of job applicants.
“We have bold goals, and we know we need the very best employees to help us reach them,” said Gina Dugas, acting vice president for human resources and associate vice president for finance and administration. “We want to remain top of mind for anyone seeking to build a career with an institution with such a critical mission to serve and advance Kentucky in everything we do.”
UK was recently ranked No. 6 on the Forbes list of America’s Best Large Employers.
“This job fair will allow hiring officials within our various departments to showcase their open positions and make sure we continue to attract the very best talent available,” Dugas said.
Current openings include positions of all levels, from entry-level to executive, within UK’s colleges; areas such as finance, IT, facilities and HR; and across UK HealthCare. Representatives from UK Human Resources will also be on hand to provide information about UK’s exceptional benefits.
As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
