Valet parking now offered for Markey Cancer Center outpatient appointments
LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 12, 2024) — The University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center now offers complimentary valet parking service for patients with outpatient appointments.
The new service is designed to ensure patients with cancer continue to have convenient access to treatment and introduces valet parking to the UK Markey Cancer Center, a service that is planned for the new Cancer and Advanced Ambulatory Building.
Valet parking is available Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the main entrance of the Markey Cancer Center’s Ben F. Roach Cancer Care Facility (Pavilion CC) at 800 Rose St.
Valet check-in is located at the building’s circle entrance. Patients can retrieve their vehicle using either a text message system, which will provide a notification when the car is ready, or a traditional paper tag. The service is completely free of charge – tipping is not available or allowed.
The service is available for Markey patients and those accompanying them to outpatient appointments at the Ben F. Roach building, Marylou Whitney and John Hendrickson Cancer Facility (Pavilion WH), as well as the Precision Medicine Clinic, the Apheresis Clinic, and Infusion Services located in the UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital Pavilion H.
For those who prefer self-parking, free options are available at the UK HealthCare Parking Garage (110 Transcript Ave.) with shuttle service to Markey, and the Kentucky Clinic Parking Garage (140 Huguelet Ave.) within walking distance.
Patients may park in the Whitney-Hendrickson lot for Saturday and Sunday appointments, but space may be limited due to construction. Patients and visitors may also park in the Kentucky Clinic and UK HealthCare garages on the weekend.
