Upcoming road closure: Huguelet Drive

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 27, 2025) — Kentucky American Water Company is scheduled to replace a water line on Huguelet Drive starting as early as Monday, June 2. The road will be closed to traffic from Rose Street to University Drive from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, for up to five weeks.
During the daytime, contractors will install steel plates on the roadway to allow traffic to proceed as usual. The sidewalk on the north side of Huguelet Drive will remain open and available.
Water line replacement is expected to take four weeks, with one additional week scheduled for street paving. This project is associated with the Health Education Building and is expected to be completed by Monday, July 7, weather permitting.
Motorists and pedestrians should exercise caution when traveling in the area.
