Prioritize self-care with UK HR Work-Life during Family Matters series

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 2, 2025) — Self-care is at our fingertips like never before with on-demand services and apps, but it can still feel challenging sometimes to balance professional and personal demands. University of Kentucky Human Resources Work-Life is here to help find harmony between work and life.

“In the world of integrated work-life, we see employees using modern advancements such as apps, smartphones and virtual opportunities to manage their daily responsibilities,” said Azetta Beatty, UK HR Work-Life benefits manger. “Employees who are caring for children or elderly adults have the added pressure of keeping up with everyone else’s personal needs while sometimes forsaking their own needs.”

In October, UK HR Work-Life has several events geared to help UK employees prioritize self-care and help care for your loved ones. UK HR Work-Life and UK HR Elder Care are hosting the Family Matters series this month.

“The transition from summer to fall presents an opportune moment for caregivers to refocus, recalibrate and rejuvenate to find balance,” said Hazel Teichen, UK HR Elder Care specialist. “It’s a time to navigate the change ahead, and find support, tips and resources from workshops offered with the Family Matters series.”

The Family Matters Series: Support Personal and Caregiving Needs explores different ways to make life easier and simpler to navigate.

Employees, retirees and sponsored dependents of employees are invited to register and attend the workshops that interest them. See the full schedule of events

Anyone who can’s attend can sign up to receive the post-workshop email with the workshop presentation and video recording link.
