LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 4, 2025) — The University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital has been named one of the 2025 Top 100 Hospitals and Health Systems for Excellence in Oncology by Becker’s Healthcare, recognizing the UK Markey Cancer Center among leading cancer programs nationwide.

The annual list honors institutions at the forefront of cancer care, research and innovation. Becker’s highlighted programs that hold National Cancer Institute (NCI) designations and national rankings from U.S. News & World Report, Newsweek and other respected organizations.

As Kentucky’s NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, Markey provides first-class, patient-centered care through advanced treatments and precision medicine. Recognized in the top 10% of cancer programs nationwide by U.S. News since 2017, Markey offers access to more than 300 clinical trials and research studies, providing therapies unavailable elsewhere in the region.

Becker’s noted Markey’s multidisciplinary approach, including its molecular tumor board, which helps tailor therapies to patients’ genetic profiles and connects them with early-phase clinical trials, as a key strength. The center’s integrated teams of oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, genetic specialists and supportive-care providers ensure coordinated care focused on improving survival and quality of life.

Markey is one of only 57 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the country and remains a national leader in advancing research, precision oncology and equitable access to care.
