LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 26, 2026) — In the interest of the safety and well-being of the campus community, the University of Kentucky will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 27, due to inclement weather.

UK HealthCare facilities remain open and are operating on regular schedule.

In-person activities for students are canceled.  A list of modified operating hours are listed below.

University Plan B (designated) employees are to report to work under the university’s weather policies. Designated employees via remote access should work remotely during Plan B operations. If employees have questions about procedures for their work, they should contact their supervisor.

The university's goal is to return to normal operations on Wednesday, Jan. 28. Officials will continue to monitor conditions closely and provide updates via email and at www.uky.edu/alerts.

This decision gives UK's facilities and grounds crews another day to maintain and clear roads, parking lots and sidewalks. If you encounter any locations that need additional attention, please report them to snow@uky.edu

If you are on campus, please exercise caution and view tips to navigate campus safely, including maps showing the first sidewalks to be cleared during winter weather.
