LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 18, 2026) — For working parents at the University of Kentucky, planning summer activities for children can be tricky. Summer will be here before we know it, and the time to start planning is now.

To support UK employees, UK Human Resources Work-Life is once again showcasing area summer camps and summer programs. From athletics to the arts, there are many opportunities to consider in the central Kentucky area.

The in-person 2026 Summer Camps Fair will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, in Ballroom C at UK’s Gatton Student Center.

“Every summer, parents of school-age children have to figure out summer child care,” said Azetta Beatty, UK HR Work-Life benefits manager. “Check out the online UK Summer Camps directory and attend the in-person summer camps fair on Feb. 26. Parents are encouraged to drop in and connect with camps to help them plan their children’s activities.”

Stop by at your convenience and stay as long as your schedule allows. Connect with camp representatives and learn more about their opportunities. Some camps will offer UK discounts.

If you need tips for how to select the right summer camp, join UK HR for a virtual workshop at noon Tuesday, Feb. 24.

All camps will also be listed in the online directory through Fall 2026.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
