Healthtrac Rewards Improved

LEXINGTON, Ky (Sept. 4, 2009) – Employees have a unique opportunity within the University of Kentucky community to improve their health, while earning up to $180 per fiscal year, with the newly refreshed UK Healthtrac Rewards Program. UK Healthtrac Rewards is an easy-to-use, online health improvement program that is a partnership among the UK health plans, UK Health & Wellness and StayWell Health Management.

For the past six years, UK Healthtrac Rewards has been helping participants increase their health awareness and improve their health. The program’s many successes range from weight loss to lowering cholesterol to increasing physical activity, all resulting in better health. As mentioned, UK Healthtrac Rewards has been refreshed. It has a new and improved Web site portal and more useful health information, tools, programs and resources. 

UK employees, retirees and their spouses or sponsored dependents on a UK health plan are eligible for the program. In order to earn the full reward of $180 per fiscal year, participants must complete the following steps:

1. Complete the Health Assessment when it is offered twice per year – during July through September and January through March. Employees will receive $25 for each completed Health Assessment – up to $50 per fiscal year.

2. Enroll in and complete either a BeH.I.P. health coaching program or an online Healthy Living Program and earn a one-time payment of $30 per fiscal year.

3. Complete an assigned Health Quiz and earn $10 each quarter. Employees will be notified which quiz to take for the quarter in the monthly Healthtrac e-mail reminder.

4. Log in to Your Healthtrac Home Page and earn at least 500 Wellness Credits per month using the Health Activity Tracker and earn $5 per month.

UK employees and their spouses or sponsored dependents will receive their monetary rewards as a quarterly credit on the UK employee’s paycheck. If a spouse or sponsored dependent is on a UK health plan, they can sign up and start making good health pay. They, too, could earn up to $180 per fiscal year. 

UK Healthtrac Rewards is an easy, effective way to keep track of one's health and make improvements. Yet 60 percent of those who are eligible are NOT making good health pay.
