Information Technology Services Seeks Participants for Cloud Community of Practice

LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 2, 2017) — University of Kentucky Information Technology Services (ITS) will host the inaugural Cloud Community of Practice (CCoP) meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, at the James F. Hardymon Building.

A community of practice is a group of individuals, who are self-led, share a common interest and seek to engage in a process of collective learning regarding that interest. The CCoP seeks to discuss best practices, support professional development opportunities, share experiences and provide continuing updates on the university’s cloud strategy. Examples of monthly meeting topics will incorporate cloud and cloud providers including, but not limited to, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Compute (GCP).

“I am excited about the formation of the CCoP," said Team Lead for Cloud Operations and Enterprise Architect Jason Conley. "By establishing the CCoP, ITS will start a university-wide conversation on how to leverage the cloud. We hope many ideas will be generated from these collaborative discussions."

ITS expects that university community members representing students, faculty and staff will participate. For more information about the CCoP or if you are interested in joining the conversation, please contact Jason Conley at jason.conley@uky.edu
