Each week, they offer exciting programs and events designed to enhance the college experience for students, faculty, staff and the greater Lexington community. Ice Cream & Ice Breakers
5-7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, Woodland Glenn Complex Blue Courts
The beginning of the fall semester is always really hot, but SAB has the perfect opportunity for you to cool off and meet some cool people! Join us 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, at the blue courts for our Ice Cream & Ice Breakers event. You’ll be able to connect with other students on campus while enjoying a free frozen treat!
Snaps: Slam Workshop
7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, Holmes Hall Creative Arts LLP
Calling all writers and poets, we have just the event for you! Come further develop your talents with SAB! On Thursday, Sept. 7, SAB will bring Graham Hackett to Holmes Hall at 7p.m. to facilitate a slam poetry/songwriting workshop. Hackett has performed at Bonnaroo and established his own nonprofit surrounding the art of songwriting, and now he’s bringing his talents to the University of Kentucky! Come learn from an expert, and who knows, you might be the next big thing out of Kentucky.
Casino Night
8-11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, Hilary J. Boone Center
We are bringing Vegas to Lexington. Students will get to have a night out in Lex-Vegas at the Hillary J. Boone Center from 8-11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8. SAB will turn the Boone Center into a casino for the night. Students will be given chips and the whole nine yards for a night of fun. As students win games, they will be awarded raffle tickets that they can place in various raffles for fabulous prizes.
