LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 16, 2019) — UK Philanthropy is accepting nominations for the 2019 Terry B. Mobley Philanthropy Awards, an annual recognition ceremony for the people who advance the University of Kentucky through their work in philanthropy and alumni relations and their advocacy of UK in the community.

The Mobley Awards honor Terry B. Mobley, a UK alumnus, former basketball player and UK Board of Trustees member who worked for more than 30 years in UK’s philanthropy and advancement programs. He oversaw the university’s first comprehensive campaign and served as a UK vice president for many years.

Created in 2005, the awards recognize outstanding performance and professional achievement as well as extraordinary partnership with UK Philanthropy to advance the university. The awards underscore the hard work of UK’s philanthropy and alumni relations staff, all of whom are helping UK to reach new heights in philanthropy and to increase alumni engagement with the university.

Staff of UK Philanthropy and the UK Alumni Association; college and unit philanthropy and alumni relations staff; deans; faculty; and directors are all eligible for the awards in one of the following categories:

  • Front Line Award: Presented to a UK Philanthropy, UK Alumni Association or other support staff member to recognize outstanding performance in support of philanthropy efforts at the university
  • Rising Achievement Award: Presented to a professional staff member who has UK Philanthropy, UK Alumni Association, or college/unit philanthropy and alumni relations tenure of fewer than five years, who demonstrates excellent work performance, significant success and potential of further outstanding achievement and impact as a philanthropy or alumni professional
  • Professional Achievement Award: Presented to a professional staff member who has UK Philanthropy, UK Alumni Association, or college/unit philanthropy and alumni relations tenure of five or more years, who consistently demonstrates excellent work performance and has achieved significant success and impact as a philanthropy or alumni professional
  • Philanthropy Service Award: Presented to a UK senior professional, administrator or faculty member who has demonstrated extraordinary support for the philanthropy effort at the university, is a strong advocate for philanthropy and is not a full-time UK Philanthropy or UK Alumni Association professional

Nomination forms are available online. Mail completed forms by noon on Oct. 14 to Terry B. Mobley Philanthropy Awards, c/o UK Philanthropy, Sturgill Philanthropy Building, Campus 0015.
