Create a 2020 Appreciation Day T-shirt Design
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 3, 2020) — With University of Kentucky’s Appreciation Day (UKAD) on the horizon, employees have the chance now to design the T-shirt that will be given away at the May 21 event.
“We have some guidelines that must be honored in order for the design to be considered,” said Jon Gent, chair of the UK Staff Senate.
Outdated versions of the logo or mascot are not allowed, and the logo itself cannot be enclosed within a circle or square. Designs must feature only one color and be suitable for a dark (UK Blue) T-shirt. If the UK logo is included in your design, it can be used in solid white only.
Finalists will be selected by the UK Appreciation Day Commission and approved by UK Marketing and Brand Strategy. Some minor modifications may be necessary. Three designs will be chosen and voted on by the university community in March.
T-shirt designs must be submitted to the Staff Senate office at UKAD@uky.edu by Friday, Feb. 14, 2020. The winner will receive a prize from the UKAD Commission.
Appreciation Day T-shirts for departments will again be done through an online form to be completed between April 1 and May 8. To pick up an individual T-shirt or a department order the day of the event, UK employee ID cards will be required.
UK will take time out from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 21, to say thank you to all those who make the university a prosperous, connected academic community. Traditional activities that employees have enjoyed over the years — food, music, exhibits and the UK T-shirt giveaway — are planned, as well as some new ways for employees to engage in the annual event. Activities will take place at Kroger Field between Gates 4 and 9. Participation in all activities is free.
