Registration Open for Women's Forum Conference

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 19, 2011) - Registration is now open for the 2011 University of Kentucky Women's Forum Conference, to be held Oct. 6, in the UK Student Center.

This year's conference will feature keynote speaker Dr. Mary Lynne Capilouto, who will address the topic "Why Women Matter."

Following the keynote, each conference participant will be able to choose three sessions from a variety of topics pertinent to women's lives. Topics for this year include: getting started in politics, exploring the outdoors, career advancement, starting a business, raising a family, networking, home repairs, cervical cancer prevention and how to get the most out of life at UK. This conference is open to any UK employee — including faculty, staff, full-time and part-time employees — and is completely free of charge. Lunch will be provided to all participants, and will include a special lunchtime presentation on diversity, and a resource fair featuring a variety of organizations. The conference runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., however participants are welcome to drop in and out as their schedule allows.
